Fixed Braces

Fixed braces are the conventional standard option for orthodontic treatment and can achieve very good results in a short space of time, the treatment involves fixing brackets to the front surfaces of your teeth.
The brackets used are either metal or ceramic and are connected by an archwire that applies forces to the brackets to gently move and straighten the teeth over time. At regular appointments throughout your treatment your dentist will make small adjustments to the brackets and wires and ensure the teeth are moving according to treatment plan. Treatment times can vary from as little as six months up to a couple of years depending on the complexity of tooth movement required to achieve the desired straight smile.
Lingual Braces
We at Glenfield Dental are one of a small number of dental practices providing lingual braces i.e. Incognito Lingual Braces.
Lingual braces are similar to the above, however they are considered by many to be “invisible braces” as the brackets are fitted to the back of the tooth surface (lingual) so that during treatment people cannot see the braces from the front.
